Providing software solutions to Turkey’s biggest corporations, Kafein software is drawing a lot of attention with its’ consistent growth each year. Having started with only 8 people, this company now has 370 employees most of which are software engineers, providing software services to some of Turkey’s most established corporations.

Despite the negative trends transpiring in both the global and national setting, Kafein Software which was established in 2005 has achieved a %29,1 growth over the past 3 years.

Kafein Technologies was recently listed amongst the 50 fastest growing companies according to the union of chambers and commodity exchanges of Turkey. With its’ added value and the employment, it provides, Kafein proves how important the software industry is for Turkey’s economy and sets an example.

“Incentives will further increase Turkey’s market share”

CEO Cem Kalyoncu mentioned that the software industry provides employment for highly skilled and well-equipped individuals and produces high added value products contributing greatly to the Turkish Economy. Kalyoncu followed up by saying, “with the necessary incentives, the industry would be able to get the global market share it deserves. In 2017 nearly 5 thousand software engineers went to look for employment abroad, “he added regrettably. “We can call this phenomenon, a brain drain which is a huge problem for the further development of our industry. Providing well organized, and developed work standards for the industry so that potential engineers don’t feel the need to work abroad would be exceptional both for our industry, and our country.” 

Mr. Kalyoncu, Can we hear about Kafein Software’s short but successful, history from you?

We founded our company in 2005 with a team of 8 idealists. We worked vigorously to carry out unique and specific projects in the software industry which was very new for Turkey at the time. In a short time thanks to our software solutions we were developing, we got people talking about us. This undoubtedly led to our company’s growth rates. Between the years 2012-2015 based on a study done by Turkish union of chambers and commodity exchanges, we were the 50th fastest growing company amongst all industries. Again in 2015-2016 we were named as one of the IT companies, that were the driving force in the industry. We are rapidly growing, over the past 3 years our growth trend was %29,1. Our number of employees kept rising, currently we have 370 employees and with our peripheral service providers, we have a total of 430 personnel whom which we conduct our work with. Finally in 2017 we were able to exceed our growth targets.

In 2017, we exceeded our target turnover, which was 44 million, we amassed 47. In 2018 we’ve set 80 million as our target, this might seem like a low number but considering that we get this turnover from service production, this becomes a very important number for Turkey. We’ve established partnerships with expert firms in their fields, heading into the future and at the beginning of the year we won a tender for the protection of personal data from one of the giants of the telecoms industry and we are currently working on that Project as well. Aside from these, we purchased a company that develops workplace health and security software. We will be providing high quality solutions and products in that industry as well. Alongside these developments, we also have active product developments that we are working on. Some of which we are working with the sanction of Tubitak (scientific and technological research council of Turkey) as well. We have started developing packages with beer solutions, parking systems, insurance as well. To sum up, I can say that we are going to keep growing with new purchases and keep providing services with new products and developments.

What exactly does Kafein Technology do?

As Kafein Technology, we primarily work within the Telecoms BSS (business support system) field and provide application development , testing, test automation, project management, turnkey software solutions, consultancy, managed services, outsource services alongside with data analytics, data mining and data archiving services.
